Interim Project Accountant
I am recruiting a Project Accountant to complete a 6 month contract with a well-established and highly regarded business based in North Wales.
Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for assisting with a number of financial projects and establishing routine reporting processes for both internal and external stakeholders. There will be a strong business partnering element to the role and it will require integrity and a professional approach at all times. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside an ambitious Finance Director and take part in some interesting projects following a period of growth and restructuring within the business. Initially you will join on a contract basis but this may lead to a more permanent opportunity for the successful candidate.
Preparation of Group Companies and divisional / department profit or loss accounts, balance sheet and other financial performance reports, providing narrative on the financial performance of the Group Companies, highlighting significant deviations from budget or prior year
Balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating any anomalies and suggesting / taking corrective action where needed
Production of annual budget forecasts
External stakeholder performance reporting obligations
Completing statutory obligations such as Intrastat and National Statistics returns
Annual audit and production of the Companies’ statutory accounts provide supporting schedules and liaise with external auditors
Completion of the annual Corporation Tax submission
Scoping and implementation of new accounting system
Establishing and improving accounting processes, procedures and procurement manual for use by the Finance Team and budget holders using best practice and continuous improvement methodology
Any other reasonable financial tasks as requested
The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and be readily available to start work. You will need to be CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified, or suitably qualified by experience.
